Addressing Racial Disparities in Cancer Support

Meet the Team

We’re a small but dedicated team of four, passionate about tackling cancer inequalities and making sure every voice is heard. Working closely with our partners, volunteers and lived experience advocates, we co-create meaningful projects that build trust, raise awareness and improve access to care across our communities. Together, we bring a mix of experience, compassion and creativity to everything we do – united by one mission: to help everyone feel seen, supported and understood.

WHO WE ARE

Can You C Me? is a Macmillan-funded programme delivered by Croydon BME Forum.
We work to reduce inequalities in cancer awareness, cancer support, early diagnosis and access to
palliative and end-of-life care.

Why We Exist

The "Can You C Me?" project was created to address the significant inequalities in cancer care faced by Black and Minority Ethnic (BME) communities. Barriers such as cultural stigma, lack of access, and systemic challenges prevent many from receiving the care they need.

Our Mission

Our mission is to ensure that every person, regardless of their background, can access equitable, culturally sensitive cancer care and support.

Who We Support

We focus on empowering BME individuals and families affected by cancer, as well as healthcare professionals, grassroots organisations, and community spaces to bridge the gap in understanding and access. By working together, we aim to create a more inclusive and supportive healthcare system.
